Dr León qualified in Medicine in Salamanca and then moved to Madrid to train in Orthopaedics and Trauma at the Hospital Clinico San Carlos.
Further experience in the U.S. was gained at Tampa General Hospital (Florida), St Mary’s Hospital Tucson (Arizona) and the Rothman Institute, Philadelphia (Pennsylvania).
In 2000 he began working in the Hospital Costa del Sol as an Orthopaedic and Traumatology Surgeon.
He received the distinction of Doctor in Medicine, PhD “Cum Laude” unanimously at the University of Salamanca in 2003.
From 2005 he has worked exclusively in the private sector, as Head of department at Hospiten, Hospital Banús and Cenyt Hospital.
He is very involved in sport and treating athletes, participating as the responsible Doctor in multiple events including the first Ironman of Marbella.
At present he runs a busy Orthopaedic and Trauma Unit, and teaches in the University of Murcia (UCAM), is on the Scientific Comittee of SETRADE and the Spanish Group for study of Muscle and Tendon.
